John Settle + MG4 with Beth Harrop
Scarborough Jazz Club welcomes back vibraphonist John Settle. John was a wow at Scarborough Jazz Festival last year with his tribute to Cal Tjader. His interest in Latin music has led him to Brazil to study with masters of the many different styles there. (A multi-instrumentalist, he’s also found time to lead his own groups on trombone.)
Expect a programme of blues, Latin, bebop and ballads, played with John’s exuberant swing and fluency. Backing him is the MG4, with added hand percussion for that Latin feel.
Support comes from young local singer Beth Harrop accompanied by Mark Gordon on piano.
